CHOIR CONDUCTOR: Prof. Yuan ZHAO
CIG choir was founded in March 2017. We practiced a number of Chinese and French songs
in the past year. We dedicated our first performance to the EMS Résidence de Saconnay,
Geneva in June 2017, and performed officially at the 1st Swiss Chinese Culture and Tourism
Festival in September 2017. We are expecting more performance opportunities in near future,
notably joint performances with the China National Opera House.
Prof. Yuan ZHAO, a professional musician of Chinese origin, graduated from the China
Central Conservatory of Music, and has long been engaged in violin teaching. He is currently
a guest conductor at the China National Opera House choir. Also, Prof. ZHAO is the father of
famous Swiss young pianist Mélodie ZHAO, and the founder of the Sino-Swiss Culture and
Art Exchange Association.
