On 14th May 2017, the Preliminary Round of the 10th “Chinese Bridge” (Switzerland) Chinese Proficiency Competition for Secondary School Students was successfully held in Bern. This preliminary round was sponsored by the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), and co-organized by the Education Affairs office of the Chinese embassy in Switzerland. The competition provided a platform for Chinese learners among Swiss secondary school students to improve their Chinese proficiency, to know more about China, to learn from one another and to make new friends. Under the theme “Learn Chinese, Double Your World”, the competition contents covered self-introduction, free speech, Chinese culture Q&A and talent show. Four students from CIG, Rémi, Lucas, Valentin and Henri, participated in the competition and won prizes for “Excellent Performance”. Their accompanying teacher Mrs. Zhimin SUN (Vice Director of CIG) also won award for “Excellent Team Leader”.
