Xuqin

XU Qin, born in Xuancheng City, Anhui Province, has had a passion for Chinese calligraphy and painting since childhood.
During her secondary school years, she held an exhibition of her paintings in Shouxian (Anhui). In 1993, while attending Huainan Normal School (Anhui), she participated in an art exhibition with fellow student painters to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the school. Although she pursued music studies at university, she devoted her free time to studying Chinese calligraphy and painting. Her work is featured in the book Beautiful China.
In recent years, she has continued to enhance her skills through courses and professional training, earning the following qualifications:
Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from Shandong Normal University and the International Exchange School.
Bachelor’s degree in Music from Capital Normal University, Beijing.
Guzheng certificate from the Chinese Conservatory of Music.
Chinese Calligraphy certificate from Shandong Normal University.
Advanced diploma in music from the Department of Music, Fuyang Normal University, Anhui.
At Shandong Normal University in 2013, she studied calligraphy and graduated with honors.
XU Qin, who holds a bachelor’s degree in musicology, is a music teacher and piano accompanist for students specializing in traditional Chinese dance, folk dance, and ballet. She also serves as a piano accompanist for traditional Chinese dance students at the Beijing Dance Academy and teaches Guzheng at the Renmin University of China in Beijing, in affiliation with American University in Washington, D.C., USA.
After moving to Geneva in August 2013, she began introducing the Guzheng, a traditional Chinese musical instrument, to the Swiss public by organizing numerous concerts and performances. Additionally, she offers private and group Guzheng lessons for enthusiasts of traditional Chinese music.
In 2015, she exhibited some of her paintings at the Boléro Gallery in Versoix, Geneva.
