CIG co-organized the first Swiss Chinese culture and tourism festival 2017
The first Swiss Chinese culture and tourism festival was held in Geneva from 1st to 3rd September 2017. The opening ceremony was addressed by the Chinese Ambassador to Switzerland, the Director of the China National Tourism Administration in Zurich, the Mayor of Geneva and the CEO of Geneva Tourism & Conventions. This large-scale cultural theme event is launched and jointly organized by the China National Tourism Administration in Zurich, the Swiss Chinese Culture Promotion Society as well as the Switzerland and China Economic and Cultural Promotion Association. CIG – Chinese Institute Geneva Foundation – is a co-organizer. Our vice-director Mrs. Zhimin SUN presided over the opening ceremony, and interpreted for the Mayor of Geneva and the Chief Executive of Aigle during their interviews with the China Central Television (CCTV). CIG children’s choir also highlighted the opening ceremony with a wonderful performance together with professional conductor Mr. Yuan ZHAO and a Soprano solo and a pianist.
The three days Chinese culture and tourism festival consisted of over 20 exhibition stands covering Chinese art, cultural performances, Chinese language and Chinese food etc. The exhibition stands of CIG attracted a large number of audiences. Our teachers made a great contribution to promoting Chinese language and culture, as well as creating a good reputation for CIG in the public.
