【Chinese Dance Debuts at the Fête de la Danse in Geneva | A Great Success】
On a warm Mother’s Day Sunday, May 10, the Chinese Institute Geneva Foundation was invited to take part in Geneva’s annual major arts event — the Fête de la Danse.
Founded in 2007, the Fête de la Danse in Geneva is one of Switzerland’s influential public arts festivals. Every May, the city becomes a true “stage for dance” — from theatres and squares to streets and parks, dance groups from different countries and artistic styles gather in Geneva, connecting cultures and the city through dance.
In 2026, the festival celebrated its 20th anniversary, with events taking place across Geneva and its surrounding districts, including nearly 40 performances, more than 80 open dance workshops, and various artistic activities.
This year, we were truly honoured to bring four Chinese dance performances to this international stage.
The organisers shared with us, with great excitement, that this was the first time they had invited a Chinese dance group to take part in the Fête de la Danse in Geneva. The audience response was very enthusiastic, and the organisers warmly invited us to participate again next year. ✨
