CIG 2019 Xi’an Summer Camp
2019 Xi’an “Root-Seeking China Tour” Summer Camp for Overseas Chinese Youth was officially launched in August.
It was held by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Shaanxi Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and Shaanxi Federation Overseas Education Development Group. A group of Swiss students, led by CIG teacher Ms. Jing YUAN, gathered in Xi’an with other students from more than 30 countries.
“Root-Seeking China Tour” Summer/Winter Camps are organized jointly by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of China and China Overseas Exchange Association, in order to provide the overseas Chinese youths a platform for learning Chinese language, understanding China and Chinese culture, and exchanging with domestic Chinese students. CIG has participated in the summer camps for many years.
This summer camp is based on the theme of “Chinese Language· Culture · Seeking Roots”. Through classroom teaching, cultural experience and visits, it has improved overseas Chinese youths’ knowledge of China and Chinese culture, and enhanced their emotional identity of Chinese nation.
At the closing ceremony on August 8th, our students performed a self-directed dance and won warm applause. Fanny’s somersault brought the dance to a climax. Oujie WANG also hosted the program in fluent Chinese as one of the hosts. CIG Swiss team showed strong learning ability and all-round qualities throughout the trip.
