The 9th Global Chinese Recitation Competition, organized by the China Overseas Chinese Education Foundation, has recently completed all its stages and officially come to a successful close. Launched in January this year, the competition was co-organized by 158 overseas Chinese schools and Chinese education institutions from 46 countries and regions, with approximately 54,000 participants registering. The scale and international reach of the event continued to expand.
With gratitude, we will continue to accompany the new generation of overseas Chinese children as they explore the richness and depth of the Chinese language, helping their voices become more confident and more powerful!
The organizer also created a dedicated page on the “Cloud Chinese Learning” platform, offering AI-assisted reading practice, learning resources, and several live training sessions on recitation skills, providing intelligent support to every participant. The competition received support from Chinese embassies and consulates in many countries, and was widely covered by media both in China and overseas.
After the overseas rounds, 3,273 contestants advanced to the global final. A jury composed of experts in broadcasting, hosting, traditional performing arts, and language education, including Huang Wei, Zhao Baole, Li Weijian, Zhang Beili, Cai Song, and Jiao Kaifeng, evaluated the final entries strictly according to the scoring criteria.
Across the four categories, a total of 258 Gold Awards, 386 Silver Awards, 627 Bronze Awards, and 120 Special Awards were presented. In addition, 105 overseas organizing institutions received the “Outstanding Organization Award” for their excellent work in promoting and organizing the competition.
